Two or More Grinding Stations: Planetary ball mill machines often have two or more grinding stations, which allow for simultaneous grinding of multiple samples. Each grinding station consists of a milling jar and the corresponding sun wheel.
Intermittent or Continuous Operation: Planetary ball mills can operate in either intermittent or continuous modes. In intermittent mode, the grinding process is paused periodically to allow for cooling or to collect samples. In continuous mode, the grinding process is continuous without interruption.
